When I first envisioned Ram Janaki Hospital, it was not simply a hospital I saw — it was a promise. A promise to the people of Janakpurdham, to the families of Dhanusha, and to every patient across the Terai region who had ever been told that quality healthcare was something they had to travel far to find. That promise was simple: world-class medical care, delivered with dignity, right here at home.
The Terai region of Nepal has long been a land of resilience — its people hardworking, its communities deeply rooted in faith, family, and culture. Yet for too long, our people faced an unfair reality: when serious illness struck, the only option was a costly, exhausting journey to Kathmandu or across the border to India. Families would spend savings they did not have, leave behind work they could not afford to miss, and arrive in unfamiliar cities at their most vulnerable moments. I saw this — and I knew it did not have to be this way.
That conviction became Ram Janaki Hospital.

Today, Ram Janaki Hospital stands as Janakpurdhams most comprehensive multi-specialty hospital — home to over 30 specialist doctors, 17 clinical departments, a dedicated Neuro Trauma & Spine Centre, a 24-hour emergency unit, ICU, NICU, PICU, a modern operation theatre, and an advanced diagnostic laboratory. We have performed thousands of surgeries, welcomed thousands of newborns into the world, and stood beside countless families during their most difficult hours.
But numbers, for me, have never been the measure of our success. The measure is the mother from Mahottari who delivered her baby safely without leaving her district. It is the farmer from Siraha whose brain surgery happened in time because we were here. It is the child from a village in Dhanusha who received the same level of pediatric care that was once only available in Kathmandu. These are the stories that make Ram Janaki Hospitals journey meaningful.
I am immensely proud of the team we have built — our doctors, nurses, paramedics, and support staff — who show up every single day with skill, compassion, and a deep sense of duty to their patients. In healthcare, excellence is not one persons achievement. It is a collective commitment, renewed with every patient we receive and every life we touch.
